
With my overly complex and busy life, I only get a chance to recharge partially on weekends and through limited vacations. Could there be a better way to stay fresh and prevent inevitable burnout?
Inspired by staying at home and social isolation from Covid-19, a thought occurred… perhaps I should proactively schedule time in my life to step back, see the big picture, check my goals, and align my priorities… kinda like stepping back and smelling the roses.
I will call this an “Untouchable Day” and put it into the schedule like any other important event in my life. On this day, I will keep my devices of distraction as far away as possible. I will then use this time to focus, reflect and align goals. This would be similar to taking a mini vacation each week to recharge my mind and body.
Challenge yourself to give it a try. If blocking out an entire day is not possible in your current situation, start small and block-out anything possible. Any time you can carve out and protect for yourself, should help with focus and the feeling of being in greater control of your life.
